USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) Hiring Full-Time CEO

USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) is a non-profit organization and the official national governing body for the sport of Pickleball in the United States, one of the fastest growing sports in America. The USAPA membership is approaching 40,000, a ten times growth rate in the last six years and with expectations to grow significantly for the foreseeable future. The sport is also experiencing global growth with 18 countries now part of the International Federation of Pickleball.

2019 was a great year with several significant, senior and quality hires in Marketing, Competition, Programs and Ambassadors, all of whom have made an immediate impact. To continue this evolution and investment in the sport and to further its mission of promoting the growth of pickleball, the USAPA has decided to transition the position of CEO / President from a voluntary basis to a full-time, paid position in its corporate staffing structure. The CEO will focus on building a strategic, long-term vision, developing and expanding the infrastructure of the sport (e.g., leagues, referees, officials, staffing, courts, and corporate venues) and leading a dynamic team.

The CEO will be primarily responsible for:

  • Reporting to the board of directors, providing both day to day and strategic leadership for the organization
  • Working directly with the board and 15 staff and contractors establishing long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies
  • Interfacing with players, instructors, officials, tournament directors, fans, vendors, sponsors and other stakeholders
  • Representing the USAPA as the national governing body for the U.S. pickleball community and serve as its spokesperson. This individual will be the day-to-day leader of the organization, a visionary, and tasked largely with expanding the membership, participation and commercial revenues of the USAPA. The selected individual ought to have a “do-anything” mindset yet be disciplined to fulfill short-term goals.

2020 will be another exciting year for the sport of pickleball and the USAPA who are seeking a dynamic, experienced CEO to help it realize its mission and goals. To learn more and apply, go to
